This service targets the silicone sealant strips at the seam between the sink rim and the countertop, as well as black mold stains and calcium deposits around the drain opening at the bottom of the sink. Technicians apply a paste made from a soft-bristled toothbrush and oxygen-based bleach powder to the moldy areas, letting it sit for 15 minutes before repeatedly wiping it away with a damp sponge. Finally, excess moisture is absorbed with a dry cloth, ensuring the sealant itself remains undamaged.
For this customized service, please confirm that the sealant around the sink is intact (i.e., not peeling or cracked). We do not scrape off or re-apply sealant; we only remove surface discoloration. Upon arrival, we plug the drain to prevent small parts from falling in and wear gloves throughout the process. After cleaning, we test the surface pH to ensure no strong alkaline residues remain.
Post-service, black marks around the sink rim are significantly faded, resulting in a cleaner appearance. We will verbally advise you on simple daily maintenance using an old toothbrush and baking soda, but we do not claim the issue will “never recur” or that bacterial growth will be “inhibited.”
